AUDITIONS
Please record and submit an AUDIO recording (mp3 or m4a - no wav or aif, please) of yourself playing the indicated excerpt(s) below. Make sure the audio is clear and not distorted. Do some sample recording and listen to the quality - we need to be able to clearly hear articulation and tone quality. Don't point your bell directly at the mic (phone).
CONCERT BAND - Seating Audition (woodwinds & brass)

Download the excerpt to use for your audition. Percussion does not need to submit audition. Parts will be assigned.
All Concert Band woodwinds and brass must submit an audition recording no later than March 31, 2026 at the link above.
Piccolo - any flute player wishing to play piccolo should submit BOTH a flute and a piccolo audition. The Piccolo soloist in Stars and Stripes forever will be selected from the auditions submitted
JAZZ BAND AUDITION
SUBMIT JAZZ BAND AUDITION HERE
Sax, trumpet, trombone, drum set, bass, and piano players are encouraged to also submit an audition for jazz band. Please download the selections below and prepare the part. Submit AUDIO recordings - mp3 or m4a format only.
Jazz Band will rehearse from 4:15-5:45 PM (location TBD) on May 26, 28, June 4, 9, & 11 at Central York High School
INSTRUCTIONS
Part 1 - (all but drums) -Moonmen - prepare the written part
- (Drums only) - Nardis (also download the play-a-long mp3)
Part 2 - Fast Blues in F -(everyone except drums) Improvise one or two choruses (be sure to download the play-a-long mp3 file.
SUBMIT ONE AUDIO-ONLY RECORDING (no videos) - e.g. play Moonmen, followed by the Fast Blues without stopping the recording. Play the backing track through speakers so it is included in the recording.
